Avoid the Grey 2012

Brilliant!! I say! Brilliant!!!!  This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending "Avoid the Grey 2012," where edgy fashion design, meets art installation.  The scene resembled a peep show.  Looking back in history, a peep show could be a wooden box with a hole or several holes, containing a set of pictures which the show-man could set into a viewing position by pulling a corresponding string. The boxes were often decorated inside to resemble theatrical scenes.  In this case, at "Avoid the Grey" the wooden boxes were 8 foot by 8 foot, and contained elaborately decorated models who were proudly showing off daring fashion designs, and set in various  story-telling scenes.  Delayna Sundberg of Cliche , and all who helped out the the production, accomplished great success in breaching the Art/Fashion conceptual world.

Check out my video below for a more in-depth look at the event.

6 Months of Puppy-hood Captured in Less Than 3 Minutes!

Okay, it's been a while since I have indulged in the creativity of making a short film, so I thought I would make one today!  For anyone who may have had the pleasure of meeting my pup, Neko, I believe you will find this video entertaining. And! if you haven't met Neko, here's your chance!  For the past 6 months I have taken pride in capturing some of my favorite moments with my darling Neko, and now I have put them together to give you a 3 minute look at the life of a 6 month old pup.  Enjoy!!

Twenty-Twelve! From Fried Ham & Eggs to Laundry Basket Looting!?

 Twenty- Twelve!!

Started off with cooking breakfast in the sunshine! Fried Ham and Eggs, and I wasn't even fighting a New Year celebration hang over...I am, however, celebrating my last day of unhealthy life style living, as 2012, so-- bring it on Fatty Foods !!
To balance out the fatty food frenzy, I took my pup Neko to the not-so-dog park, Dog Park! where the sun was shining through the trees and illuminating our snowy walkway! As she patiently waits while I snap her pic, I was thankful for my layers since it was no more than 18 degrees and a slightly bitter breeze.

So, since I binged in some savory breakfast, then indulged in some sunny winter nature hiking, I decided to purge!

I started my purging with my Gmail Inbox. Rounding off to an astounding 2,344 emails (880 unread emails) I deleted ALL of them.  MAN THAT FELT GOOOOD!

I then decided to Clean my walk-in closet, and in the process, I bagged-up 2 huge garbage bags full of clothes and wrote with permanent marker "to Donate!"  in our efforts to live a more minimalism life style; Brian will be SOOOoo proud of me!! :)

During the clothes organizing process I also decided to do laundry, because what else are days off for? ...and upon completion, as I walk into the laundry room I find that my Navy Blue Mesh Laundry basket was GONE! and replaced by a different Black, Plastic Ordinary laundry basket...NOT MINE!!! I was BEEYOND  perplexed! Speechless, and Confused-- I refused to conform to this Mystery Laundry Basket Looter's "idea" for me to take this replacement ordinary laundry bin in lieu of my missing basket!  I will have NONE of THAT! So...I marched back up the stairs to my apartment, VENTED to my boyfriend, grabbed two large blue ikea bags, and marched back down the stairs and left a very kind note for my laundry basket looters!

Lo and behold, my Navy Blue Mesh Laundry basket showed up at my doorstep... No.Questions.Asked.

Helloooooooooooooooo TWENTY TWELVE!!!!

BIG WEEK for Neko!!

BIG Week For Neko!

Late last week:
Neko lost her last Canine tooth! (the last to go in a puppy's mouth)!

Yesterday:
Neko caught her rope toy with her MOUTH! (a desirable doggy talent that we almost threw to the wayside given trial after trial. She understood the concept but could never open her mouth in time.)

Today!
Neko caught the TENNIS BALL with her Mouth!!! She's a quick learner, and this opens up a whole new world of puppy entertainment!!!!

We're so proud of our little one!

The Labyrinth: Amazing? or Just A Maze?

After recently indulging in some throw-back entertainment, such as, the original "Star Trek" episodes and "The Wonder Years," I stumbled on "The Labyrinth."

Now, I have to admit, for years upon years "The Labyrinth" has drummed up an enormously committed cult- following; and, for years upon years I have felt like I somehow missed the bus on that one.  I did not share the same undying affection.  For some reason I felt as though I didn't "get it" or, possibly, my A.D.D. kicked in and I didn't pay attention, or something else of the sort.  So! As you can imagine I was quite excited to happen upon this viral movie and was looking forward to the opportunity to reconnect with my teeny-bopper years and finally find out what I was missing all these years!
..........

Well, the movie is over, and my reaction is surprising.  I can't help but feel a sense of overwhelming satisfaction when I realized that, in fact, it wasn't my A.D.D. kicking in, nor was it that I didn't "get it." The movie is J.u.s.t. T.h.a.t. C.o.n.f.u.s.i.n.g. There was more cohesiveness for Bambi's hooves when he tried walking on ice for the first time, than there is in "The Labyrinth." And, aside from David Bowie's eyes, there is nothing-cool-about-him. Can't dance, Can't act, and worst of all Can't Sing (yet, somehow, is paid millions of dollars per year for this supposed mysterious talent).

Vindication: it's the best way that I can describe my feeling.  When I was a teen I didn't miss out, I simply moved on, and forgot about my wretched experience all together.  And, might I say a special thank you to all the trendy hipsters who have built up this (imaginary) divine infatuation with "The Labyrinth" so that my junior high school experiences and opinions can, once again, be vindicated.

Warning: Some of the opinions in this blog post may be hard to swallow for some self righteous trendy hipsters. I recommend watching the movie again.
(Also, I probably should have put this disclaimer at the top of my post....)

Dabbling in New Computer Technology

Playing around with my new toy, the "Wacom Bamboo Tablet" A.k.a. computer sketch pad thingy.
